Chaque instant de chaque jour .. (Day by Day)
On August 17, our youth, led by the college students, organized the morning services. They did everything including the offering, special music, testimonies, and the message. Melanie, Stephanie, Jonathan, and Catherine sang "Chaque instant de chaque jour" (Day by Day) to music that Stephanie wrote.
I originally posted her song under the wrong title! Sorry Steph!

Webster Update
Well, it happened last week - the first snowfall of the season! Melanie and I were away at a conference in Michigan where the weather was much warmer. Frankly, it was nice to be able to “put off” winter for a few days. However, reality hit when we arrived home to see most of the shrubs and hedges of the neighborhood already shrouded. We have at least managed to begin installation of our winter garage and hope to get the rest taken care of by the middle of next week.
Thank you so much for your prayers for our church building needs. I am glad to announce that the work on the roof went well and that the job is finally finished, just in time for winter. We even have enough funds left over to move right on to the next project, even though the work might have to wait until Spring.
Do continue to pray for the contractor who helped so much with the roof. All of the folks have signed a card to thank him, which we plan to include with a Bible. Pray that the door that has already opened with him through good discussions will continue. The Lord has opened several other doors lately, but too many to list all at once. There was the young man who came to a morning service, just to get out the rain. There was a discussion with a telemarketer who called during lunch hour, quickly asked a few standard sales questions for Canada Post, then announced that his real reason for calling was to ask a few questions about the Bible during his lunch break. Do pray for this young French-speaking Muslim. I kept thinking afterwards, suppose I had responded to this guy according to my flesh – how dare he call during lunch! There was the young lady who lives just a mile or two from the church who, as a result of our church website, called to make an appointment for a visit and to ask questions. She needed to fulfill a requirement for a class called “Science of Religion.” But our two-hour discussion divulged much more than a casual interest on her part. Do pray for her. We were able to give her a Bible.
Two weeks ago we finally had the baptism service for Lysa. There was a good attendance with several first-time visitors present, including her father and sister. Lysa gave a wonderful testimony of her salvation in Christ. Please continue to pray for her spiritual growth and for the salvation of her daughter Naomy.
Benoit, whom we mentioned in our last update, traveled with us to the conference in Michigan. He is integrating very well into the work and has preached three times now. We now have four men who can help with teaching and preaching! Do continue to pray for Benoit as he considers further biblical training on a master’s level, perhaps in the USA.
Thank you for your continued prayerful support!

Webster Update
It has been way too long since we have sent any prayer news. A number of elements contributed to our getting terribly behind in correspondence. The most incredible culprit was Microsoft’s Vista Service Pack 1. An attempt to install it caused the OS to crash resulting in the loss of all e-mails received from the beginning of August to the first part of September. Oh well, as I often tell Melanie and the kids, one can only blame oneself for loss of data in this computer age since the rule of thumb is “keep it backed up.” We do thank you for your patience with us.
We had a wonderful summer in the work here. In our last letter we referred to Placide Savard’s brain tumor. Praise the Lord, we now know that the tumor is benign! Also, continue to pray for pastor Paul Pelletier and the Church in Laval. Though he is suffering still from the results of the radiation treatments, it does appear that those treatments were effective. John Garris, our coworker, filled in for Paul for the last time last Sunday. He and wife Judy have now traveled to Michigan where they will do a month’s worth of deputation meetings. Do pray for them as they were already quite tired due to the traveling back and forth to Montreal (Laval).
God has supplied the funds necessary for the work to be done on the church roof! After several delays due to bad weather, the cancellation of a team from a sister church, etc., the work is finally scheduled to go forward this weekend. We ask that you pray for good weather and safety, but most of all for our testimony towards the contractor and his workers, as we will be working side by side plus providing a meal. The contractor is family to some of our folks and offered to help us in this way.
Sunday evening will be our first opportunity to hear Benoit Guillot share God’s Word for a service. The Lord brought Benoit to us in early Spring. He already has good theological training and a desire to serve the Lord. He already is helping with the youth and music. He is seriously considering the possibility of pursuing further training in the US on the seminary level. Do pray for Benoit, the decisions that he must make, and his implication in the work here.

Webster Update
It has been a while since we sent any news. Since returning with our Bob Jones Sudents at the beginning of May, summer has been going full swing. We have already hosted two teams for which we thank the Lord. Please pray for the decisions that different ones have made during their summer ministries here in Québec that each one will follow through.
The Lord has supplied good summer jobs for both Stephanie and Jonathan to help pay their college bills. Catherine is still in school! Schools are not out here until the end of June.
Though our support is still very low due to the drop in value of the U.S. dollar, we have made the decision to halt deputation travels for at least a year. We felt this was best for the work and are trusting the Lord to supply. Though things are very tight, He has not ceased to meet our needs!
We ask you to pray for a sister church in Montreal and it's missionary pastor, Paul Pelletier. Paul has recently been diagnosed with cancer and is still undergoing tests to decide just what the situation is in order to begin treatments. This is a dear church that loves it's pastor. Pray specifically for our own John Garris who will be filling in for Pastor Pelletier during the whole months of July and August. Pray for traveling mercies between Québec City and Montréal and for wisdom and grace in ministering under these circumstances. As our decision to suspend deputation trips for a year was made before this need arose, we can see God's hand in our decision. John Garris is my fill-in for deputation!
